DRM: zinloos geweld Carlo van Mobhappy koopt uit principe geen cd's meer in de winkel:

"(...) What are we coming to when CDs need compatibility statements? And why should a record label get to dictate on what equipment I play music I buy? (...) What's funny about all of this is that the DRM doesn't work anyway. (...) the Dave Matthews Band tells buyers to rip the CD through Windows Media Player, then burn a copy with it, then rip the copy into iTunes to get the music onto an iPod. (...)"

Sinds dat DRM [?] - antikopieertechnologie - zijn opmars maakt in de on en off line muziekwinkels blijven kritici roepen dat DRM niets uithaalt. Iedere nieuwe vorm van DRM wordt op een gegeven moment, vaak vroeger dan later, toch gekraakt en is dus zinloos. Iets waar overigens Apple vorige week ook achter kwam, toen nieuwe versies van Mac OS X op Intel- en AMD-pc's begonnen te verschijnen. Een gehackte versie van de volgend jaar op Intel-pc's te verschijnen versie van Mac OS X circuleert reeds op verscheidene BitTorrent-sites, inclusief installatiehandleidingen.
