Urs Hoelzle, een technisch hoofd bij Google, lichtte tijdens het Eclipsecon-congres een tipje van de sluier op wat Googles 'motor' betreft. In grote maar technische lijnen schetste hij de infrastructuur van de zoekmachine. News.com schrijft er over. Hoelze geeft toe dat duizenden geclusterde Red Hat-machines niet altijd feiloos samenwerken:

"(...) For all its built-in redundancy in case of failure, the system doesn't address all problems, Hoelzle revealed. During the presentation, he showed a photo of six fire trucks responding to an emergency at a Google data center in an undisclosed location. (...)"
